Live Performance with Ableton
Workshop
Duration: 6 hours
Sunday, 05 October 2025 | 11:00 > 18:002025-10-05T11:00:00.000Z | Flyer New Media
An intensive 6-hour workshop dedicated to the fundamental techniques of building a live performance with Ableton Live: from using Session and Arrangement View to managing samples and virtual instruments, all the way to integrating external synths, modular systems, and controllers. Practical aspects such as clock, MIDI, and latency management will also be addressed, with the goal of providing participants with the foundations to create a stable, flexible, and personal setup.
The workshop is led by Giancarlo Lanza, an Ableton Certified Trainer since 2009, with over 15 years of experience. After a short introduction to the context of electronic live performance and the differences between DJ sets and live sets, participants will be guided through a progressive journey that blends theory and practice, learning how to design and manage a live set according to their resources.
During the workshop, participants learn to work with Ableton Live by exploring tools and methodologies in detail: from preparing samples and clips, to using virtual and external synths, to integrating modular systems and handling latency in real-world situations.
What you will learn
Who it is for
Producers, electronic musicians, sound designers, and performers interested in building a personal and flexible live set with Ableton Live. A basic knowledge of the software and/or digital music tools is useful but not mandatory.
